01 / how it works

A tiny hook. Set up in under a minute.

ccn is a small command line tool that Claude Code runs through its hooks, on macOS, Windows or Linux. When a turn ends, Claude needs a permission or asks you a question, it sends a push to your phone and exits. Nothing runs in the background. If you're away from the keyboard, Claude waits for your answer from the phone, and stops waiting the moment you're back.

  1. 01Install the iOS or Android app
  2. 02Choose your computer: Mac, Windows or Linux
  3. 03Run the line the app shows in a terminal
  4. 04Start Claude Code as usual. That's it.

Frequently asked questions

What terminals are supported?

Any terminal. ccn runs inside Claude Code's hooks, so notifications, approvals, answers and follow-ups from your phone work wherever you run claude. If you're at the keyboard, the terminal asks as usual and your phone just gets a note. (The older Mac menu bar app needs iTerm2, kitty or tmux to reply from the phone.)

Do I need a Mac?

No. ccn works with Claude Code on macOS, Linux and Windows (Windows support is in beta). Install the iOS or Android app, pick your computer, and run the line the app shows. See the command line page for every install option.

How much does it cost?

ccn is free, and so is the Mac menu bar app. The iOS and Android apps are free to download, and unlock with a subscription ($6.99/month, or $39.99/year with a 7-day free trial) or a one-time $99.99 lifetime purchase.

Will this slow down Claude Code?

No. ccn runs for a few milliseconds each time Claude Code calls it, then exits. Claude only waits when you're away from the keyboard and it needs you: then it waits for your answer from the phone, up to a limit you choose, and stops waiting as soon as you touch the keyboard.

Is this made by Anthropic?

No. Claude Code Notifier is an independent third-party application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic. "Claude" and "Claude Code" are trademarks of Anthropic.

Where is my data stored?

There are no accounts. ccn keeps its session state on your computer, and each computer's settings are also kept on our server so you can change them from the phone. Notifications and your replies pass through our encrypted relay server to get between your computer and phone, and are deleted within 48 hours. Nothing is sold or used for advertising. See the Privacy Policy for details.
